This programme is aimed at enriching ākonga understanding and knowledge around the exhibitions showing at the time of your visit and the function of an art gallery. In this exhibition, Dagmar Vaikalafi Dyck and Sopolemalama Filipe Tohi explore pathways between the past, present, and future in Tongan arts by honouring treasured memories, maintaining, and preserving traditional oral knowledge, and inspiring future generations.
Comfort Zone until November 26

Focusing on the kōtuku and their only nesting grounds in Aotearoa New Zealand, Comfort Zone is a moving image exhibition which explores the limits of human understanding and the distances we put between ourselves and other species.

Jeremy Leatinu’u
This installation presents three haerenga (meaning journey, trip, parting) exploring contrasting yet interlinked stories of migration through three looped moving image works. The title of this exhibition translates in English to “from the front of the canoes to the back of the canoes”, suggesting multiple viewpoints that comprise a collective journey.
Vital Machinery from November 27
Conor Clarke, Selina Ershadi, Janet Lilo, Meg Porteous, Louise Menzies
Vital Machinery explores intersections in the practices of five female artists from Aotearoa working across photography and moving image. In this exhibition, the camera has been engaged as a technology and an extension of the body and thought process.
