Fiona Fox: Inscription of My Breath | Alcove Gallery
22 February 2014 - 18 May 2014
Talented emerging artist Fiona Fox’s ethereal works represent an ‘unconscious language’ which is written in thread. Made of clay, thread and wire, Fiona says, “the sculptures are an act of notation through hieroglyphics that manifest a desire to be heard, not of the voice but of the unconscious other that resonates a collective pre-linguistic frequency.
This frequency seeks to act as a bridge between science, physics and art, allowing its own language to seep, transcend and explore the sensations of then becoming more than notation but realising itself as an image that breathes a feminine force.”
Fiona Fox was the top visual arts student in 2011 in the Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design Degree, EIT.
