Christine Pattullo: Crossing the Bridge and Korowai for Lilian | Foyer and Alcove
11 February 2017 – 19 March 2017
Pattullo creates a physical connection to her forebears, as thread, stitching and fabric form both metaphoric and literal links to the past. Woven into these works are stories of whaling off Mahia Peninsula in the 1800s, of crossing the first Wairoa Bridge in 1888, of the early days at Hukarere Girls College in Napier and settlements in the Maori Land Court in the 1980s.
