Join artist and curator Anna Crichton for a talk and tour of Still Life with Moving Parts.
In 2020, Anna Crichton set up a studio container on the Auckland waterfront and worked with ‘outsider artists’. Outsider artists are artists who are either self-taught or naïve art-makers. Typically, they have little or no contact with the mainstream art world, and illustrate different visual constructions and ways of seeing.
Artists explored the city waterfront and with their clipboards, paper and pencil in hand drew what inspired them - buildings, bollards, birds, and more. Artwork was scaled up onto mural panels, and admired by public and passers-by.
Still Life with Moving Parts captures the artwork created in the studio container and subsequent workshops at Crichton’s Titirangi studio.
Come along on Saturday 27 February at 11am to hear more about this exhibition!
