Ongoing - available all year
We will begin by learning about key artists who pioneered the art of collage and zine-making.
Ākonga will learn about the influence of dada, surrealism and pop art movements on contemporary art practices. This will lead into discussion around the ways in which artists use their creativity and imagination to produce completely new images – reminiscent of the scenes we might see in a surreal dream world.
Taking inspiration from these artworks, ākonga will use collage techniques and glossy images to make our very own collage zines (which are small books artists use as a cheap way of distributing their works). Zines can be about art, poetry, writing, activism, musings, and anything else the artist wishes to express.
Book a workshop and see what fantastical imaginative artworks your students will create!
