The Hastings City Art Gallery will be closed on the following dates over the Christmas and New year holiday period: Dec 25, 2011 (Christmas day), Dec 26, 2011 (Boxing day), Dec 27, 2011 (Christmas holiday observed), Jan 1, 2012 (New years day), Jan 2, 2012 (New year holiday), Jan 3, 2012 (New years day observed).  The gallery will be open as usual outside of these dates, 7 days between the hours of 10am and 4.30pm.

The Hastings City Art Gallery invites you to join curator and Furniture designer, Kevin Webby to hear him deliver a  floor talk about the exhibition "Whole in the Heart" currently running in the Holt Gallery.  Sunday, November 20th at 1pm.

Female artists and friends have the opportunity to honour and farewell their mentor.  Come dressed in 50's to 60's period clothing with a plate of food to match and join us in toasting Rita.  Sunday 20th Nov - 3.30pm

Bring along your lunch and join our Director Maree Mills in Civic Square for a picnic, then guided tour of Rita Angus: Selected works.  Thurs October 27th - 12.30 - 1.30pm

Floor Talks in conjunction with ‘Game On A Selectors Choice of Contemporary New Zealand Artists’ were delivered Saturday September 10, by featured artists Paul Hartigan and Fane Flaws. Paul kicked off the afternoon giving visitors a quick history and insight to his journey through ‘The Neon Revolution’, followed by afternoon tea and the always entertaining Fane discussing his artistic history as a ‘Media Pirate – Working Across Multiple Disciplines’.

Twelve of the latest products from ten of the  top New Zealand furniture designers: Nathan Goldsworthy, Kennedy Brown (formerly Clive), Jamie McLellan, Tim Wigmore, Katy Wallace, Emma Fox Derwin and Nigel Groom, Duncan Sargent, John Calvert, Kevin Webby (Napier) and Roger Kelly (Napier).
