Bring in a jar of homemade preserves or a handmade toy to exchange for a wax votive made by Tiffany.

At the end of the exhibition the preserves will be gifted to the Hastings Food bank and the toys will be gifted to the children at the Hawke's Bay Hospital.

Floor Talk: Tiffany will be talking about her work at 11am on Saturday 21st January.  Stay and make a handmade toy to exchange for one of Tiffany's wax works!

Andrea's du Chateniers first survey exhibition runs until February 6th, 2012.  Entry to the gallery is free and we are open between the hours of 10am - 4.30pm 7 days.  A must see!  Warning - Viewer discretion advised.  Some content may offend.

The Hastings City Art Gallery will be closed on the following dates over the Christmas and New year holiday period: Dec 25, 2011 (Christmas day), Dec 26, 2011 (Boxing day), Dec 27, 2011 (Christmas holiday observed), Jan 1, 2012 (New years day), Jan 2, 2012 (New year holiday), Jan 3, 2012 (New years day observed).  The gallery will be open as usual outside of these dates, 7 days between the hours of 10am and 4.30pm.

Coming up this weekend we have two events in association with Terrie Reddish's show - 'Billy K and Me'. On Saturday 12 at 11am Terrie will be giving a floor talk about her William Colenso exhibition. Then on Sunday 13 between 11am and 3pm Terrie and friends will be demonstrating Victorian letter folding and bookbinding techniques. So drop in and take a look!

Floor Talks in conjunction with ‘Game On A Selectors Choice of Contemporary New Zealand Artists’ were delivered Saturday September 10, by featured artists Paul Hartigan and Fane Flaws. Paul kicked off the afternoon giving visitors a quick history and insight to his journey through ‘The Neon Revolution’, followed by afternoon tea and the always entertaining Fane discussing his artistic history as a ‘Media Pirate – Working Across Multiple Disciplines’.
